Leora Gershenzon is the Policy Director of the California Initiative for Technology and Democracy, a project of California Common Cause. She is the former Deputy Chief Counsel of the California Assembly Judiciary Committee, where she worked for nearly two decades on all major policy issues impacting families, legal services, the state bar, and the courts, among other issues. Prior to that, she was the Assistant Director at the newly created California Department of Child Support Services.

She spent nearly a decade in legal services, working as a staff attorney for National Center for Youth Law and Legal Services of Northern California. She began her legal career clerking for Judge William Schwarzer in the Northern District of California and at corporate law firms in San Francisco and New York. Leora has a J.D. from Berkeley Law (Order of the Coif) and a B.A. in mathematics from Reed College.
