2021 Annual Report

About this report

A look at the Commission's 25th year and its new role as a grantmaker. The Commission selected 47 legal aid organizations to share $5 million in Infrastructure & Innovation Grants, and The California Endowment provided $750,000 for grants helping seven legal services organizations and their community partners respond to COVID-19 evictions.

The report also notes that the Legislature put $70 million into the Equal Access Fund and expanded eligibility, so more than 12 million Californians now qualify for state-funded legal aid.
