Sandra Levin has been the Executive Director of LA Law Library since 2012, during which time she has been a zealous advocate for access to justice and has significantly expanded public access and programming.  For those who do not have, or cannot afford, legal representation, the Law Library provides free legal resources, supports those fending for themselves in the courts and helps navigate the legal system in general.  The Law Library motto is: “Access to Information = Access to Justice.” 

As Executive Director, Ms. Levin is responsible for the conduct and oversight of the operations of the Law Library, a vibrant community education center in Los Angeles County and a leader in providing public access to legal knowledge, serving more than 100 thousand patrons annually.  

Ms. Levin also served as the President of the California Council of County Law Librarians (2018-2021), and is a current member of the California Library Association’s Legislative Advocacy Committee. 

Prior to becoming Executive Director of LA Law Library, Ms. Levin practiced public law, acting as the City Attorney for several cities in addition to serving as General Counsel to other local government agencies.  She was a founding principal of Colantuono & Levin, a law firm specializing in the representation of local government agencies. 

Earlier in her career, Ms. Levin also served as Mayor, Councilmember and Planning Commission Chair for the City of Culver City.  As a representative of Culver City, she served as liaison to other governmental agencies, sat on many local government committees and boards, and spoke as a panelist at a variety of forums and seminars.  Ms. Levin also practiced at Riordan & McKinzie for 13 years, where she was a principal in the litigation department, prior to forming Colantuono & Levin.
